- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance the mission, objectives, and values of the organization.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including financial management, human resources, and administration and ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, as well as adherence to ethical and best practice standards.
- Collaborate with the Board (Regional Executive Council) to develop and implement organizational policies, procedures, and strategic plans to achieve long-term sustainability and impact.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (SAFOD affiliates, state actors and non state actors to support programmatic initiatives, partnerships, and advocacy efforts.
- Lead fundraising and resource mobilization strategies including donor cultivation, and stewardship for future growth and sustainability of the organisation.
- Lead the development, Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities and ensure disability inclusive policies and laws.
- Represent and be the face of the organisation in public forums, regional. Continental and international forums to raise awareness and promote the rights of persons with disability.
- A degree in Social Sciences, Disability Studies, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field (a postgraduate degree or master’s degree is highly desirable).
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in leadership roles within regional or international NGOs, particularly in the disability or human rights sector.
- Deep understanding of disability rights, advocacy frameworks, and global disability-inclusive development agendas.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, organizational management, and resource mobilization.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other regional languages is an added advantage.
